This mixed use development debuts an unprecedented “Class T” collaborative building including a high performance computing center located in Atlanta’s Tech Square. The approximately 750,000 square-foot mixed-use project represents a $375 million investment between Technology Square and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Within the development, 620,000 square feet will be office space designed to enable unparalleled collaboration between research and industry. Georgia Tech occupies about half the office space. Nearly 40,000 square feet of retail space, including the adaptive reuse of the historic Crum & Forster building, is activated by a plaza with playful lighting and an impressive LCD video screen, which has become a local gathering spot and outdoor living room for Tech Square and Midtown Atlanta. The light fixtures for both the interior and exterior are a reflection of the building’s technology and modernization. Linear fixtures and concealed lighting blend seamlessly with the architecture to provide a clean aesthetic and with a high-tech feel. As a LEED Platinum certified facility, Coda demonstrates a 34.4% reduction in energy cost, of which 44% is attributed to the lighting power and daylighting controls.
